Rebecca Maddern

Rebecca Maddern (born 6 August 1977) is an award-winning senior journalist, news reporter and presenter with diverse duties at the Seven Network, Australia. She has worked at Seven Melbourne for 13 years & is one of the longest serving journalists of her kind.
Maddern is currently Melbourne Correspondent on ''Sunrise'' and is also a fill-in presenter and senior reporter on ''Seven News''.
Maddern regularly appears across numerous programming and special events for the Network. These include Seven News, Sunrise, AFL, Australian Open Tennis, Melbourne Cup, The Morning Show, The Royal Children's Hospital - Good Friday Appeal, AFL Grand Final Parade, Anzac Day March, Fundraisers & Functions.
She is the Geelong Cats AFL club #1 Ticket holder.
Maddern is also the Network's stand-by News Presenter.
HSV-7 is the Network's 'National Broadcast Centre' (play-out facility) in Melbourne and is where the main Master Control is based. As such, in any transmission emergency or breaking news event (particularly international or during evenings), she can present LIVE news bulletins or updates on-air to the whole of Australia. This is in place or conjunction with the Network's national HD news studios at ATN-7 in Martin Place, Sydney.
==Career==
Maddern started off her career in radio after she completed a Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies from the RMIT University in 1999. Later she became a sports reporter for Melbourne radio station Triple M, whilst there she worked alongside some of the top media personalities of Australia.
In 2001, Rebecca began reading the Fox FM afternoon news reports and, at the beginning of 2002, moved to Nova 100 to read the breakfast news during the inaugural year of ''Hughesy, Kate and Dave''.
In October 2002, Maddern joined the Seven Network after being offered reporting position by the news director. It was there in her first year of television reporting, she won a prestigious Quill Award for her coverage of Victoria's January 2003 bushfires.〔(2003 Melbourne Press Club Quill Awards )〕
In September 2005, Rebecca was appointed presenter of ''Seven Afternoon News'' replacing David Johnston until the bulletin moved to the network's Sydney studios.
In January 2013, Maddern returned to present ''Seven Afternoon News'' with production moving back to Melbourne again replacing Samantha Armytage. However, in August 2013 she was replaced by Melissa Doyle and Matt White.
In March 2014, Rebecca joined ''Sunrise'' as Melbourne correspondent replacing Nick Etchells.〔http://mumbrella.com.au/rebecca-maddern-joins-sunrise-melbourne-correspondent-216696〕
In recent years, especially since becoming Sunrise Melbourne Correspondent, Madden has had reduced duties on Seven News as a senior reporter. She is still used as the main fill-in presenter, usually for Jennifer Keyte on weekends. She frequently presents News Updates, particularly on weekday afternoons until 3pm.
